The body of a young woman discovered dumped near Mpape Junction in the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, has been identified as Kandoon Louisa Lornumbe, hailing from Benue State.
Earlier reports from LIB indicated that the victim was found deceased on Thursday morning, May 2, 2024, near the Mpape junction around the Abuja top bridge connecting Berger and AYA.
Authorities suspect she fell prey to criminals operating “one-chance” schemes, plaguing the nation’s capital.
SP Josephine Adeh, the FCT police spokesperson, confirmed the incident to Punch on Friday, mentioning that the Mabushi Divisional Headquarters had removed the body and investigations were underway to ascertain her identity.
“We took the body to the hospital yesterday. We are still investigating,” she stated.
Meanwhile, friends corroborated her identity through Facebook posts on Friday.
Ngu Queen Chamber, also from Benue State, recounted speaking to the deceased on Thursday.
“You called me last Thursday, mentioning it had been a while since you reached out. Little did I know it was a farewell call. May your perpetrators never find peace. May your soul and the souls of all the faithful departed rest in peace through the mercy of God,” she expressed.
