Reportedly, Usher received a payment of only $671 for his Super Bowl Halftime performance.
Nevertheless, performing on such a grand stage brings its own array of benefits. Following his appearance at the Super Bowl, which garners the highest viewership for any major sporting event, Usher is anticipated to generate over $100 million from increased music streams, ticket sales for his upcoming tour, and endorsements arising from his performance. Much of this anticipated revenue will stem from the surge in streams for the classic hits he performed.
It’s a common occurrence for artists to experience a significant spike in streams after major televised performances. Just this week, songs from Tracy Chapman and Billy Joel, both decades old, re-entered the Hot 100 chart following their appearances at the Grammys.
However, some of Usher’s increased streams will be attributed to his new album, “Coming Home.” Coinciding with his Super Bowl performance, Usher released his first studio album since 2016. The album’s debut single, “Good Good,” featuring Summer Walker and 21 Savage, has been his biggest hit in years.
