In a ugly incident that happened during a wedding ceremony, a groom in a village in Thailand’s Nakhon Ratchasima province went on a shooting rampage, resulting in the deaths of four people, including the bride, before taking his own life.
The tragic event occurred on Saturday, November 25, 2023, leaving the community in shock.
The groom, identified as 29-year-old Chaturong Suksuk, a former soldier and paralympic athlete, had been in a live-in relationship with Kanchana Pachunthuek, 44, for three years before deciding to tie the knot.
The couple had just completed a traditional wedding ceremony and were celebrating with their loved ones when the situation took a shocking turn.
Amidst the joyous ceremony, he abruptly left the celebration and returned with a pistol.
Witnesses reported that an argument on private matters had taken place between the couple, and in a fit of rage, he retrieved the firearm from his car and began firing.
Tragically, the bride, her 62-year-old mother, and 38-year-old sister lost their lives in the shooting.
Additionally, two guests were injured and rushed to the district hospital, with one succumbing to their injuries.
The groom then turned the gun on himself, ending his own life instantly.
While it is believed that the groom was intoxicated during the incident, the exact motive behind this horrifying act remains unclear.
Authorities are currently conducting a thorough investigation, collecting evidence, and speaking with witnesses to shed light on the events leading up to the tragedy.
