Three Sevilla supporters tragically lost their lives in a traffic accident while en route to attend their team’s Copa del Rey quarter-final match against Atletico Madrid on Thursday night, January 25.
The incident occurred on the A4 motorway near the Despenaperros natural park, approximately 270 kilometers south of Madrid, as reported by Spanish sources.
Sevilla expressed deep sorrow in a statement, lamenting the loss of the fans and acknowledging the unfortunate circumstances surrounding the traffic accident. The club extended condolences to the families and friends of the deceased and announced that players would wear black armbands in their memory.
Additionally, Sevilla has formally requested a moment of silence before the match, and they are in contact with the Spanish football federation regarding this tribute.
