Nigeria has been placed in the 10th position on the list of Africa’s least safe countries for women.
According to the global Women Peace and Security Index 2023, which assessed 177 countries based on women’s inclusion, justice, and security, the Central African Republic claimed the top spot, followed by the DR Congo and South Sudan, ranking second and third respectively as Africa’s most unsafe countries for women.
On the other hand, Seychelles emerged as the safest country for women in Africa, with Cape Verde and South Africa following closely behind.
