An unidentified man was electrocuted in Jattu community, Etsako West Local Government Area of Edo State, allegedly while attempting to steal transformer cables.
The lifeless body of the suspect was discovered dangling between two electric poles near the transformer by residents on the morning of Monday, January 29, 2024.
It was gathered that the victim had cut the cable beneath the transformer, packed it aside and climbed up the electric pole to cut the four long cables that connect light to the transformer to the low tension wire.
The source added that officials of BEDC came and evacuated the corpse.
