A man identified as Tony is alleged to have beheaded his girlfriend, Maxuel Ebibraladei, in the Kabeama community of Sagbama Local Government Area, Bayelsa State.
The incident reportedly occurred around 3 am on Saturday, February 3, 2024, and the victim’s severed head was discovered by neighbors at dawn.
Tony, the alleged perpetrator and father of their child, was apprehended by residents before attempting to escape and has been handed over to the police. The victim’s remains were deposited at the Federal Medical Centre, Yenagoa, while Tony is in custody at the State Criminal Investigation Department (CID).
The motive for the gruesome act remains unclear. The police spokesperson confirmed the incident, stating that an official statement would be issued. A community member suggested that the suspect is a runaway soldier and drug addict.
