A 21-year-old man named Habu Yusuf has been taken into custody by the Nasarawa Police Command on charges of raping his brother’s two daughters in the state’s Nasarawa Eggon Local Government Area.
On Monday, December 4, 2023, at the police headquarters in Lafia, the state’s Acting Commissioner of Police, DCP Shettima Muhammad, made this announcement while presenting the suspect and 17 other criminals who had been detained for a variety of offenses throughout the state’s 13 local government areas.
According to the commissioner of police, the suspect was nabbed for rapping his neighbors 5-years old daughter.
“On 31/10/2023, at about 1430hrs, a complaint was lodged at Nasarawa Eggon Division by one Justina Samuel that she returned from the market and found that her 5 year old daughter was walking abnormally,” the CP stated.
“Upon inquiry, she revealed that she was sexually molested by one Habu Yusuf, 21, of Egbukumu Area, Nasarawa Eggon
“Upon receipt of the complaint, the suspect was trailed and arrested. Preliminary investigation revealed that Habu Yusuf has also sexually molested two of his elder brother’s children between the ages of 8 and 10 before nemesis caught up with him
“He has confessed to the commission of the crime and investigation is ongoing,” the Commissioner added.
