The Lagos State Police have detained a 40-year-old woman, Akintola Alima, for reportedly storming a school in the Ijegun area of the state and seizing three pupils on Monday, March 11.
Alima, along with other members of her gang, allegedly infiltrated the school premises around 3:30 p.m. and forcibly took away the three young pupils. Upon receiving notification, the police swiftly pursued the kidnappers.
Alima was captured, and the abducted pre-nursery pupils—Sofiat, aged 4; Isreal, aged 5; and Mustapha, aged 6—were rescued from her custody. She has been placed under arrest, while her associates fled the scene on an unregistered motorcycle.
The abducted children have been safely reunited with their families, while Alima is currently in police custody as authorities work to apprehend her accomplices.
