Nigerian rapper and actor, Ikechukwu Onunaku, shared a recollection of his time working with Oladapo Daniel Oyebanjo, also known as D’Banj, at MoHits music record label.
During an interview with Daddy Freeze, Ikechukwu revealed that despite being booked for shows where promoters paid around N1.5 million or N2 million, D’Banj would only pay him N50,000. This revelation surprised Daddy Freeze, to which Ikechukwu affirmed its accuracy. Ikechukwu mentioned that D’Banj eventually increased his payment to N150,000 after getting approval from his mother.
When Daddy Freeze inquired about D’Banj’s mother’s involvement in MoHits Records, Ikechukwu responded affirmatively, stating that spiritually, she played a role. He added that decisions within the record label often required her approval for a significant period.
This discussion follows recent accusations by Dotun, who was previously married to D’Banj’s sister, accusing D’Banj’s mother of interfering in his marriage and causing distress in his life.
