The 40-year-old Brazil international, held in Brian 2 Prison for over a year, denies wrongdoing but admits to cheating on his wife with the accuser. Prosecutors seek a nine-year jail term, while the accuser’s lawyer calls for the maximum 12 years.
The trial is scheduled to begin at Barcelona’s Audiencia Provincial Court, with three judges, and may last three days, with a written verdict to follow.
